Story & Dialog

This project allowed and encouraged a narrative driven gameplay, which I immediately jumped on.

The contribution that I'm most proud of, therefore, in this is the story and dialog between the player character and the NPC:s.

The main character arrives at a burnt down village in the middle of a forest inhabited by ghosts, the former residents of the village.

 

The player then takes it upon themselves to figure out who burnt down the village.

A cleverly crafted blame game ensues which results in the player having to make a decision on who the culprit is. If the player is right the player has won, but if the player is wrong the consequences are dire.

The thought process and writing behind the blame game dialog and the playtesting required to develop the final result was very fun and interesting. Trying to understand how different players interpreted the blame game dialog gave me a great deal of respect for quality assurance.
