My Contribution:

  • Level designed the first forest level

  • Made sketches for base gameplay props such as ramps and obstacles

  • Involved in the theme and mood of the music

  • Set dressing 

  • Project coordinator

Mockup

Bellow there is a example of when my sketches came in handy. We were supposed to deliver a mockup so I took the initiative of sketching a first draft.

Then the Artists took over and delivered a mockup that more closely resembled the final product. The back and forth type of workflow is one of the most fun ways of working together with others.  

Process

Is a clearly explained and understood good idea is better than a not fully understood great idea? I think so yes.

Since it was the first experience creating games, including mine, many were feeling a bit lost. Perhaps because of the age gap, it allowed me to mantle the role of coordinator, structuring meetings and making sure everyone felt involved.
 

My sketches came in handy when working with the artists in painting a picture of what we were supposed to do. 

Crude and simple but fast they paint a clear picture of the level.
